Materials Manager
How You Will Help:
- Determine optimal inventory investment, establish desired inventory levels, and ensure compliance.
- Implement and manage the manufacturing database, including Bill of Materials, Routings, Forecasts, Item Costs, and MRP parameters.
- Monitor order statuses, report progress to management, and take necessary actions to keep orders on schedule.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships while benchmarking and improving Supply Chain Management processes.
- Collaborate with the Global Sourcing team on Make-to-Order (MCTO) initiatives.
- Manage purchase order issuance, invoicing, and budget adherence reporting.
- Oversee the annual physical inventory process or manage ongoing cycle counting as directed.
- Coordinate with the Central Planning team to meet service level and working capital targets.
- Utilize sales, forecast, and order data to drive inventory optimization and working capital efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all supply chain functions.
- Manage planning processes, including Manufacturing Order (MO) releases, order fulfillment, and project planning with Inside/Outside Sales Teams.
- Adjust and update forecasts in BY, working with the corporate planning team as needed.
- Optimize vendor scheduling and production coordination (e.g., Evermark and TA).
- Prepare and report monthly inventory forecasts to leadership.
- Oversee logistics, including container coordination and timely delivery.
- Purchase all non-inventory items, Capital Expenditure Requests (CER), and other essential supplies.
- Conduct data analysis to enhance forecasting accuracy, presenting insights to management and the Planning team monthly.
What You Will You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and materials management within manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Skilled in leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, including TPS or similar methodologies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, specifically M3, for inventory control, scheduling, and forecasting; experience with Logility supply chain software is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizations.
- Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to balance customer requirements with operational efficiency.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in planning and achieving both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience in valves a plus.
